Whether you are cleaning out an estate, doing a kitchen gut renovation, or replacing a roof, a dumpster rental is usually the most practical way to handle the debris. Having a roll-off container on-site means the job moves faster, the crew is not spending time hauling debris in pickups, and cleanup at the end is straightforward.
When You Actually Need a Dumpster
- Roofing tear-offs: old shingles and decking add up to several tons quickly
- Kitchen or bathroom gut renovations
- Basement cleanouts and full-basement finishing projects
- Estate cleanouts and hoarder situations
- Whole-house or room-by-room renovation projects
- Landscaping and demolition debris
- Garage and shed cleanouts
What Size Do You Need
10-yard dumpster
Best for small cleanouts, single-room renovation debris, garage cleanouts, or a small roofing repair. It fits in most driveways easily and works well for projects where the volume is limited.
20-yard dumpster
The most common size we deliver. Good for most roofing jobs, kitchen or bathroom remodels, mid-size cleanouts, or a combination of renovation and cleanout debris. This is the right size for most residential projects on Long Island.
30-yard dumpster
For larger renovation scopes, multi-room gut jobs, or bigger estate cleanouts. If you are doing a full interior renovation or emptying a large house, this is the size to look at.
40-yard dumpster
Full home renovations, commercial applications, and large-scale debris removal. The 40-yard is a significant container and is typically used when the scope of work is substantial.
When in doubt, size up. Running out of space and needing a swap midway through a project costs more than picking the larger container from the start.

What Can and Cannot Go In
Most construction debris, household junk, furniture, and yard waste can go in a roll-off. What cannot go in: hazardous materials, liquid paint, batteries, tires, electronics, and certain appliances. If you are unsure about a specific item, call us and we will tell you.
Nassau County Permit Requirements
If the dumpster is going on your driveway or private property, a permit is typically not required. If it needs to go on the street, some Nassau County towns require a permit. We ask about placement when you book and handle the permit question for you.
